Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) has unveiled its all-new MY25 F Series 4x4 truck range, delivering a comprehensive update to one of Australia’s most capable and application-focused medium-duty off-road commercial vehicle platforms.
Developed to meet the evolving needs of emergency services, mining, remote field support, infrastructure and specialist vocational operators, the MY25 F Series off-road range introduces major advances in safety, powertrain technology, driver comfort and operational capability.
Comprising the FSS 110-210 4x4 and flagship FTS 150-260 4x4 models, the new line-up brings Isuzu’s latest generation medium-duty engineering to some of the country’s most demanding operating environments, while maintaining the rugged reliability and fit-for-purpose durability that have defined the Isuzu off-road story for decades.
Featuring upgraded drivetrains, increased Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) on FTS, advanced braking systems, enhanced safety technology and an all-new cabin design, the model change-over marks a significant evolution of Isuzu’s medium-duty off-road offering.

A proud heritage
Australia has long played a central role in the evolution of Isuzu’s off-road truck platforms, with local customer feedback and harsh operating conditions helping shape generations of AWD and 4x4 models.
The Isuzu off-road model legacy began in the early 1980s with the quick acceptance of the JCS 420 model. \u200b
From 1987, JCS was replaced by the F Series 4x4 line-up of both FTS and later FSS models in Australia, quickly earning a reputation across emergency response, utilities, mining and regional service applications for its durability, payload capability and dependable performance in challenging terrain.
Over time, the platform has evolved to meet changing industry requirements, including the introduction of advanced automatic transmission options, improved safety systems and emissions control requirements.

According to Mr Humphries, the role of off-road trucks continues to expand as industries place greater emphasis on productivity, safety and operational flexibility.
“We’re seeing broader demand across sectors including energy infrastructure, telecommunications, regional construction, disaster response and remote-area logistics,” he said.
“Operators increasingly require vehicles capable of transitioning between sealed roads, regional highways and difficult off-road terrain, often while carrying specialised equipment or supporting multi-crew operations.
“The MY25 F Series 4x4 range has been engineered with exactly those requirements in mind, delivering improved payload capability, advanced driver assistance technologies and greater driver comfort without compromising off-road performance.”

The range
The MY25 F Series 4x4 range comprises two key models designed to suit a broad spread of medium-duty vocational applications.
The FSS 110-210 4x4 is offered at 11,000 kg GVM and 15,500 kg Gross Combination Mass (GCM), powered by Isuzu’s proven N-4HK1-TCS engine producing 154 kW and 706 Nm of torque through a six-speed manual transmission.
Available in both single and crew cab configuration, the FSS is ideally suited to emergency services, local government and field support operations requiring strong payload capacity combined with excellent off-road manoeuvrability.
At the top of the Isuzu off-road range sits the FTS 150-260 4x4, offering a substantial 15,000 kg GVM and 21,000 kg GCM capability.
Powered by Isuzu’s advanced Euro VI-compliant 6.7-litre DB6A-TCN engine, the FTS produces 191 kW of power and 883 Nm of torque and is paired with an Allison LCT2500 Generation 6 fully automatic transmission.
Available in both single and crew cab configurations, the FTS platform has become a staple of heavy emergency response, mining support and specialist remote-area operations throughout Australia.
“The FTS in particular continues to be one of the most capable medium-duty 4x4 truck platforms available in the Australian market,” said Mr Humphries.
“It offers the payload, durability and off-road capability required for highly specialised applications, while now delivering even greater levels of safety, refinement and driver support.”

Engine and drivetrain
A major focus of the MY25 update program has been the introduction of enhanced powertrain and driveline technology across the F Series range.
The FTS adopts Isuzu’s latest DB6A-TCN powerplant, delivering strong low-end torque characteristics ideally suited to steep gradients, soft surfaces and heavy payload operation.
The engine is fully compliant with the ADR 80/04 (Euro VI) emissions standard and works in conjunction with the proven Allison six-speed automatic transmission to provide smooth, responsive power delivery in challenging conditions.
Meanwhile, the FSS continues with Isuzu’s trusted 5.2-litre N-4HK1-TCS engine, combining dependable performance with excellent serviceability and proven real-world durability.
Across the range, Isuzu has introduced a series of drivetrain and chassis enhancements designed to improve vehicle capability and operator confidence in demanding terrain.
The FTS now benefits from a strengthened 540 MPa rivetless flange chassis frame with an 870 mm frame width, increased front axle capacity and the inclusion of Isuzu’s I-Brake engine compression brake.
“These enhancements deliver genuine operational benefits for customers working in steep, remote or heavily loaded applications,” explained Mr Humphries.
“The upgraded chassis strength, improved braking performance and enhanced driveline capability all contribute to better vehicle control, durability and long-term operational confidence, while the new chassis frame makes life easier for truck body builders.”

Advanced braking & safety
Safety technology forms a critical component of the MY25 F Series upgrade, with the introduction of Isuzu’s latest generation Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) package across the range.
The MY25 models introduce comprehensive active safety functionality, including autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, electronic stability control and adaptive safety technologies designed to support drivers in a wide range of operating conditions.
The F Series also gains a new Electronic Braking System (EBS), improving brake response, control and overall vehicle stability.
Importantly for off-road applications, the range incorporates dedicated ABS and ESC off-road functionality, allowing operators to tailor vehicle behaviour to low-traction environments where conventional on-road calibration may not be appropriate.
“Safety expectations in the commercial vehicle sector continue to evolve rapidly, particularly for vocational fleets operating in remote, complex environments,” said Mr Humphries.
“Our new F Series 4x4 models benefit from a significantly enhanced safety package that supports drivers both on-road and off-road, while still recognising the unique operating conditions these vehicles are often exposed to.”

Safety
Safety and driver support technologies have also been significantly enhanced as part of the MY25 update.
Across the AWD and 4x4 range, customers benefit from upgraded active, intelligent safety systems, improved braking performance with disc brakes now standard, and additional stability, cruise, lane departure and autonomous sensor-based safety tech across applicable models.
Cabin
The entire MY25 range introduces bold, refreshed interior and exterior styling, auto climate control, enhanced cabin amenity and improved crew cab comfort, including rear cooling provisions on all crew cab variants.
Driving position and visibility have also been further enhanced as part of the model change – a key feature of the Isuzu driving experience.
Adding the convenience and ease of use is the addition of Isuzu’s new Passive Entry and Start System or PESS on DT models, whereby users can simply press the ‘unlock’ icon on the key fob and the cabin is unlocked with first-stage ignition activated automatically. \u200b

Cabin & driver environment
Applying to both models, Isuzu’s MY25 F Series update also introduces a substantially redesigned cabin environment focused on comfort, ergonomics and ease of operation.
Both models receive refreshed interior and exterior styling, improved cabin amenity and enhanced crew cab accommodation, including upgraded rear passenger comfort and cooling functionality.
The redesigned cabin places strong emphasis on visibility, driver positioning and fatigue reduction, particularly important for vehicles operating over long distances in far from home port.
Additional convenience features, updated switchgear and improved interior refinement further elevate the overall driving experience.
“These vehicles often spend long hours in demanding, isolated environments, so improving driver comfort and reducing fatigue was a major focus during development,” said Mr Humphries.
“The MY25 cabin delivers a much more refined and contemporary operating environment while still maintaining the practicality and durability operators expect from an Isuzu truck.”

Fit-for-purpose engineering
Isuzu continues to place strong emphasis on vocational suitability and application engineering across the F Series 4x4 range.
Crew cab availability across both FSS and FTS variants provides added flexibility for emergency response, infrastructure maintenance and multi-crew field operations, while a range of new bullbar options and body integration capability further expands vocational adaptability.
Combined with Isuzu’s six-year factory warranty and roadside assistance package, the MY25 range has been developed to provide customers with strong whole-of-life ownership value alongside proven operational performance.
