Isuzu Power Solutions Expands Dealer Network with Shaw Diesels Appointment in New Zealand

Isuzu Power Solutions (IPS), a leading provider of robust diesel power systems throughout Australia and New Zealand, is pleased to announce the appointment of Shaw Diesels as its latest authorised dealership partner in New Zealand.
This strategic expansion strengthens IPS’s regional footprint and reinforces both companies’ commitment to delivering high-quality engine and power solutions across a wide range of applications.
Under the new partnership, Shaw Diesels will offer IPS’s renowned range of diesel engines, power units, and generator solutions to customers throughout New Zealand, complementing Shaw Diesel’s deep technical expertise and established reputation for diesel engine service and support.
Specialist service
Shane Moretto, IPS Sales Manager (VIC/TAS/NZ) said the brand was thrilled to welcome Shaw Diesels into the Isuzu Power Solutions network.
“Their heritage and hands-on engineering expertise align perfectly with our philosophy of providing reliable, fit-for-purpose power solutions, backed by strong technical and aftermarket support,” he said.
Shaw Diesels is a long-standing leader in diesel engine sales, service, and maintenance, with over 30 years of experience serving commercial, industrial, marine, and domestic sectors from its bases in Auckland and Christchurch.
The company is widely recognised for delivering rapid-response specialist service, engine rebuilds, and bespoke power solutions across New Zealand and the Pacific.

A legacy builds
“We’ve been around since 1988. It started in the family garage at home with my old man, and it is what it is today because of him. We’re now into the second generation coming through,” said Peter Shaw, Director, Shaw Diesels.
“Our bread and butter from day one has always been marine focused. As marine systems engineers, that’s at the core of who we are,” he said.
Over the past decade the company has branched out into industrial power and generation markets, growing its OEM customer base and expanding into power plants, water pumps, and generation applications.
“We diversified into the industrial sector and generation, and over the last decade we’ve grown our OEM customer base and expanded into power plants and water pump applications,” Mr Shaw added.

New opportunities
The partnership with IPS opens new opportunities for customers in New Zealand to access a broader range of diesel engine products, including IPS’s popular generator options and specialised engine units.
“Isuzu is a household name, so it’s nice to say ‘Isuzu’ and people know instantly what they’re dealing with. It’s an amazing name to have on our wall because it’s established and highly regarded.
“The extensive IPS product range gives us a larger catalogue to pull from, but with an already exceptional name attached. Everyone we speak to is interested and excited to hear about this new partnership,” Shaw said.
Product diversity
“The smaller IPS engine products are something we haven’t been able to put into our catalogue for a long time. When Isuzu came knocking, it opened our eyes to the options we can now offer.
“We’ve been able to have conversations with new OEMs because we can now offer something in that field that we weren’t able to before. On the marine side, it’s great to have a trusted brand to offer as a solution, as well as service and support.
“Being able to offer new and robust marine propulsion is a big one for us.”
Natural synergy
This synergy between IPS’s engineering-driven solution portfolio and Shaw Diesel’s hands-on industry experience ensures customers in New Zealand have access to robust engines and power systems supported by expert service and technical capability.
The partnership announcement coincides with Shaw Diesel’s presence at the Auckland Boat Show (alongside IPS) further highlights the partnership’s strong marine focus, bringing together leading brands and technical specialists under one roof to engage with customers across New Zealand’s marine industry.
Shane Moretto concluded, “This partnership is a meaningful step forward for both organisations.
“Together we offer a more complete solution to customers, from generator needs through to complex marine, industrial and agricultural power requirements.
“We look forward to building upon Shaw Diesel’s strong market presence and delivering enduring value to customers across the region.”
