Isuzu Australia Marks Launch of New Range with Growing Market Share

2025 has proven to be a landmark year for both Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) and the broader heavy commercial vehicle industry in Australia.

Isuzu Trucks has racked up 37 consecutive years of market leadership* off the back of the launch of the all-new MY25 Isuzu truck range, and the industry saw the introduction of new Australian Design Rules (ADRs) setting new safety and emissions benchmarks for Australia’s truck fleet.

“2025 was always forecast to be a significant year for Isuzu in Australia,” commented Director and Chief Operating Officer, Mr Andrew Harbison.

“The introduction of the new ADRs was the trigger for the launch of our all-new MY25 truck range in Australia and for Isuzu, this was a once in a generation model release.

“With our record atop the Australian truck sales race extending back to 1989, there’s a lot of pressure and expectation with every product we bring to market.

“And our brand tagline, ‘Reliability is Everything’ sets a very public standard that we must ensure all our products live up to,” Mr Harbison continued.

“All told, we’ve brought over 200 models from our latest MY25 truck range to market over the past 12 months, spanning the light, medium and heavy-duty weight segments, and to see these trucks represented in another year of sales leadership for Isuzu is a proud moment for IAL and the Isuzu Dealer Network.”

Over 200 models spanning light, medium and heavy-duty have landed.

Isuzu secured its 37th consecutive year of Australia truck market leadership with total sales of 12,420 units at the close of 2025.

Impressively, the brand managed to improve market share to 27.5 per cent in a total market that declined overall.

“Once again, over one in four new trucks rolling out of dealerships Australia-wide bore the iconic Isuzu chrome badge in 2025,” enthused IAL Head of Sales Craig White.

“It’s been an absolutely huge year for us, starting with our dealer and customer launch of our new range back in March, which was hotly followed by our grand public unveiling and display at the 2025 Brisbane Truck Show.

“The real test of course was the start of sales in the second half of the year – the interest from across the industry that we had in the lead up to this gave us great confidence and the numbers have borne this out,” Mr White said.

Record sales in light-duty continue for Isuzu Trucks.

2025 market numbers at a glance

Total market

  • The 2025 Australian truck market recorded total sales of 45,191 units, a decline of 12 per cent on 2024 numbers.
  • All three market segments saw lower volumes than 2024, and once again, the heavy market segment represented the greatest ratio of total truck sales.

Isuzu Trucks

  • Isuzu delivered 12,420 units across all weight segments in 2025, for total market share of 27.5 per cent.
  • Isuzu held top spot in the light-duty segment with sales of 6,941 units, a 2 per cent volume increase on 2024 numbers. The segment overall was down 6 per cent on 2024 results.
  • Isuzu market share of 50.6 per cent for the light-duty segment was an all-time record for the brand.
  • Isuzu secured top spot in the medium-duty segment with deliveries of 3,267 units for 49 per cent segment share.
  • Isuzu’s performance in the heavy segment continued apace with 2,221 deliveries for 15.5 per cent share and third place overall.

“The team at Isuzu Australia and the Isuzu Dealer Network has another packed year ahead of it as we move into the next phase of growth for the brand,” said Mr Harbison.

“Competition gets tighter and tighter; the operating environment continues to grow in complexity and our customers’ demands evolve with technological and industry requirements.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing new products and services to market, designed to assist and support our customers as partners in their heavy commercial vehicle needs,” he said.

Network seals the deal

“The Isuzu Dealer Network must be recognised for their pre-eminence in the Australian truck market,” said Mr White.

“Isuzu’s proud history in Australia stretches back over 50 years and many of our dealers have been a part of the journey since day one.

“All Isuzu truck operators can be assured that their local Isuzu dealer will provide the same peerless customer support and industry nous that has seen Isuzu achieve this remarkable record, as this approach underpins our future success,” he concluded.
